Mosul Chemotherapy Project

December 10, 2006 - AmeriStat Pharmaceuticals in cooperation with and under the initiative of Mr. Peter Kosel, the U.S. Military and Fedex, have been supplying desperately needed chemotherapy products to patients in Iraq.  We have been doing this for over a year now.  Mr. Peter Kosel has been financing this project, mostly by himself, however, with the aid of some contributions that are coming in, but he could use some assistance.  We urge people to visit his blog, to learn more about this project and possibly make donations to help cancer patients in Iraq:

Sending Chemotherapy Drugs to Iraq  (Listen to Peter talk about his project) ---------->
September 7, 2006
Peter Kosel—Founder, Mosel Chemotherapy Project
Robert Braam—Organizer, Illinois Coalition for Peace and Justice’s Potluck Democracy Program.

Retired engineer Peter Kosel was surfing blogs from Iraq when he found one discussing a shortage of medical supplies at a hospital in Mosul, Iraq. Peter decided to personally send the hospital some of the necessary drugs for cancer treatment. He then started the Mosel Chemotherapy Project. Illinois Coalition for Peace and Justice’s Potluck Democracy program is partnering with Peter Kosel to help bring more supplies to the hospitals. Peter blogs about the program at Mosel Chemotherapy Project—Waldschrat’s Mirror.

Photos

I have various photos the hospital has sent me that provide ample evidence that the shipments are getting where they are intended to go and reaching patients. Security considerations require that I not pass on anything that could place the folks in Iraq at risk, but I need to reassure anybody that wants to help that this is a real project doing real good and helping real people.

This is a photo of a courageous young girl getting treatment using some of the drugs that were sent. I can only hope that the treatment helped. The fight against cancer is never won 100%, chemotherapy is only a way to improve the odds and try to extend the span of years. If this one patient lives a full life it will be worth more than anything you or I could ever spend on this project.

Wheelchairs for Iraqi Kids

Another project that has Ameristat's full support, under the initiative of Mr. Brad Blauser and www.rocwheels.org is in supplying badly needed wheel chairs for Iraqi Kids.  This project is named:  Wheelchairs for Iraqi Kids   We urge you to visit these sites and make donations !  Ironically, we learned of Brad's involvement with this project and others through his instrumental participation in helping to deliver the chemotherapy products in Iraq.
